I Wonder Of Despair
If you could hold the sunrise that welcomes each new day…
Would you withhold that light from all else for your own despair?
If you held it…
Could the eternal wailings of creatures desperately craving light add guilt to your soul?
Or would your despair be too deep for it to even brush against your sight?
If you let it go,
As it rises…
Would it burn you as it shown,
Or would it blind your despair into insanity?
Would life go on as it was…
Or would you stumble,
Blind and anguished through eternity,
Forever in agonized existence.
Far beyond pain or hatred…
Just atrocious despair,
Clinging to every fiber of your essence.
Perhaps in your despair,
You would wreak endless carnage through your life that was not a life…
Wandering from one destination to another…
Massacring countrless beings with carnassial ferocity,
Along with blind longing and hunger.
But I only wonder,
If ever…
Any being would feel such as this.
Would you withhold that light from all else for your own despair?
If you held it…
